Philippe Adam

specialist in European space defence

A graduate of the École Polytechnique class of 1985, Philippe Adam chose to serve in the Air Force. A fighter pilot and test pilot, his career followed a relatively traditional path, which he pursued until reaching the age limit imposed by law. After initially working directly with military airfields, his responsibilities gradually increased, leading him to explore various fields such as international relations, armament programmes, and joint military operations command. Having reached the rank of Air Force General, he left active service at the end of 2025.

His last three-year position as ‘space commander,’ a title enshrined in regulatory texts, within the air force, which has since become the air and space force, has given him valuable experience in a field, that of space defence, where it is still rare in Europe.
