Sarah Ben Néfissa

Sarah Ben Néfissa is Emeritus Research Director at Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) and a member of Development and Societies Joint Research Unit (IEDES-IRD). She is a political sociologist specialising in Egypt and the Arab world. Her work has addressed the many dimensions of political life in Egypt: Islamic associations, political parties, the Muslim Brotherhood, voting, political ideologies, local power, social movements, the 2011 uprising, etc.
