Trained at the IJBA, Audrey Chabal has been a freelance journalist since 2013 in economics and society. Her book investigations called Souriez, vous êtes nudgé, comment le marketing infiltre l'Etat ("Smile, you've been nudged: How marketing infiltrated the state"), was published in 2021 by Editions du Faubourg. She is a member of the journalists' collective Les Incorrigibles.
