Brice Laurent

researcher at the Center for the Sociology of Innovation (CSI) at Mines Paris – PSL, and director of the Social Sciences, Economics & Society Division at ANSES (the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety).

His research focuses on the relationship between science and democracy and falls within the field of the social studies of science and technology. At ANSES, the division he heads is responsible for socioeconomic analysis and dialogue with the agency’s stakeholders. It develops methods and approaches to integrate the humanities and social sciences into public expertise on health and environmental risks. Brice Laurent’s publications include "Les Politiques des Nanotechnologies" (ECLM, 2010), "Democratic Experiments" (MIT Press, 2017), and "European Objects" (MIT Press, 2022).
