Claudia Teran-Escobar is an associate professor of applied social psychology at Paris Nanterre University, where she is a member of the LAPPS laboratory. Her research lies at the intersection of health issues and climate change. Having studied in Bolivia, Switzerland, and France, she has developed an interdisciplinary approach that combines quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews, and randomized controlled trials.
Her research focuses in particular on reducing meat consumption, active and sustainable mobility, and the acceptability of environmental policies. She is interested in psychological factors (motivations, beliefs, social norms), as well as the structural constraints that shape individual behavior. She currently coordinates the ANR JCJC NO-MORE-MEAT project, which aims to identify effective levers for encouraging more sustainable diets.
Active in the international scientific community, Claudia Teran-Escobar is also associate editor of the British Journal of Health Psychology and co-coordinates a working group of the European Health Psychology Society dedicated to issues of equity, global health, and sustainability. Through her research, she advocates for a vision of psychology as a central tool to support the transformations needed to address contemporary climate and health challenges.
