Isabelle Sourbès-Verger is a geographer and director of research at the CNRS. Her work focuses on developments in space activities, from the gradual expansion of near-Earth orbits to plans to establish bases on the Moon. Her analysis is based on a comparative study of space policies, their national ambitions, including their support for the rise of private entrepreneurs, and their international implications.
Isabelle Sourbès-Verger is the author of numerous academic publications, books, articles, and book chapters. She is a member of scientific committees and chair of the COSPAR PSSH Panel. She leads a seminar at EHESS and contributes to the specialized master's degree in Defense and Security in Space at the École de l'Air et de l'Espace. She also acts as an expert advisor to public bodies, the National Assembly, and the Senate, and promotes research through media appearances, conferences, and contributions to general interest magazines.
