Jean-François Delfraissy has been Chairman of the French National Consultative Ethics Committee for Health and Life Sciences (CCNE) since 2017. PhD in human biology, he was Head of the Emergency Department and then of Internal Medicine-Clinical Immunology for almost 20 years at the CHU Bicêtre. During this time, he was also co-director of the INSERM Viruses, Neurons and Immunity Unit, also at Bicêtre, from 1994 to 2004. From 2020 to 2022, he was Chairman of the Covid-19 Scientific Advisory Board to the French President. He is the author of around 500 publications in journals with an impact factor in immunology, internal medicine and infectious diseases.
