Jean-Marc Lemaître is an expert in the mechanisms of ageing and longevity and is an INSERM research director at the Institute of Regenerative Medicine and Biotherapy in Montpellier (IRMB). After completing his thesis at the Institut Jacques Monod of Université Paris VII and fifteen years of work on genome replication during embryonic development, he joined the Institute of Human Genetics in Montpellier in 1998 as a Research Engineer. In 2015, he became Deputy Director of the IMRB and Director of the cell reprogramming laboratory at the Montpellier University Hospital. His work focuses on the understanding of aging mechanisms and develops strategies that aim to restore the functionalitý of tissues and organs altered by aging.
