Philippe Drobinski

Philippe Drobinski is a research director at the CNRS and a professor at Ecole Polytechnique (IP Paris). His research focuses on the evolution of the Euro-Mediterranean climate in relation to the water cycle and energy resources. From 2016 to 2024, he directed the Laboratory of Dynamic Meteorology. In 2019, he founded the interdisciplinary center Energy4Climate, which he has led ever since. He is the author of more than 200 book chapters and scientific articles. He is a lead author of the IPCC’s Seventh Assessment Report and co-coordinator of the MedECC’s Second Assessment Report (often referred to as the “Mediterranean IPCC”). At École Polytechnique, he teaches undergraduate and professional courses on climate change and the energy transition.
