Raul Sampognaro is a researcher in economics at Sciences Po-Paris. He graduated from the University of Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne) with a specialisation in international economics. After a professional experience at the Ministry of Finance, he returned to the academic world at Sciences Po. He is a specialist in public finance issues in France and in the euro zone, and has contributed to several collective works on the reform of the European institutional framework, in particular the budgetary rules in force. He is also actively involved in the evaluation of public policies. His research work also focuses on the recent evolution of inequalities and the social protection system.
