Samuel Morin

Director of Centre national de recherches météorologiques (CNRM)

Samuel Morin is a researcher at Météo-France, director since 2021 of Centre National de Recherches Météorologiques (Météo-France - CNRS), which gathers most of the research activities of Météo-France in the field of meteorology and climate. After a PhD in environmental sciences (2008), he worked at the Centre d'Etudes de la Neige (CNRM team based in Grenoble), which he directed from 2015 to 2020. Bronze medal of the CNRS in 2017, he coordinated or participated in several research projects at national and European level in the field of climate, natural risks and natural and managed snow cover in mountains. He is lead author of the IPCC Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere, to be published in 2019, and contributing author of the IPCC WG2 report to be published in 2022.
