Sylvain Ferrand is a research engineer at the Ecole Polytechnique's Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées (IPP). He works on sound interfaces for orientation and guidance, with a particular interest in navigational aids for the visually impaired. He is involved in the ANR project SamGuide (Spatial Awareness for Multimodal Guidance) and is co-founder of the startup RunBlind.
