Vincent Bontems is a philosopher of science and technology, a research director at the CEA, a professor at Paris-Saclay University, director of the L’âne d’or and Multiversalisme series at Les Belles Lettres, and co-director of the Master 2 program in “Technology and Innovation Management.” His academic work focuses primarily on Gaston Bachelard and Gilbert Simondon. His applied work involves the analysis of technological lineages, knowledge management, innovative design, and science fiction prototyping. His most recent book is Scientific Fictions: What If Borges Had Known About AI? (Les Belles Lettres, 2025). He is currently engaged in a research project titled Scenarios of Potential Risk Evolutions through Algorithms and Data in Science (SPREADS), funded by the Defense Innovation Agency.
