Grégoire Courtine

Professor of Neurosciences at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)

He is also Adjunct Professor in the neurosurgical department of the University Hospital Lausanne (CHUV) and Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lausanne (UNIL), director of the Defitech Center for Interventional Neurotherapies (.NeuroRestore), and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of ONWARD Medical N.V. (Euronext: ONWD).

After obtaining the Chancellor Award for his discoveries during his post-doc at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), he established his own laboratory at the University of Zurich in 2008. He joined EPFL in 2012 where he is now Full Professor within the NeuroX Institute. Together with functional neurosurgeon Prof. Jocelyne Bloch, he founded the Defitech Center for Interventional Neurotherapies, named .NeuroRestore.

He obtained many awards, including the Rolex Award for Enterprise, the top ten Breakthrough Technologies from MIT Technology Review, and Man of the year in Vaud, Switzerland.
