Jacky Mpoy

statistical engineer at the CNRS and member of the Interdisciplinary Institute for Innovation (IP Paris)

Jacky Mpoy is a statistical engineer at the CNRS and a member of the École Polytechnique’s Interdisciplinary Institute for Innovation (i3), where he has been working since 2021 at the Management Research Center (CRG). After earning a bachelor’s degree in MIASHS and then a master’s degree in applied mathematics and statistics with a focus on data science, he has developed expertise at the intersection of statistics, machine learning, and software development.

At the CRG, his work focuses on analyzing complex data in a variety of contexts. In the field of healthcare, he contributes in particular to projects predicting immunotherapy-related toxicities in cancer patients and predicting fatigue in female breast cancer survivors. He also works on social network analysis, community detection, and the identification of topics of interest from large amounts of textual data.

Before joining the CNRS, he gained R&D experience at DataStorm, a subsidiary of the Group of National Schools of Economics and Statistics (GENES), where he worked on time-series modeling and simulation. At the startup twice.ai, he then focused on image processing and video analysis, particularly through the development of detectors and interactive visualization tools.

Today, it is also developing digital tools for research, including web applications that incorporate generative artificial intelligence models and interactive visualization tools.
