Louise Souverbie

Researcher at IRIS in the Defense, Strategy, and Armaments Program

Louise Souverbie is a researcher at IRIS within the Defense, Strategy, and Armaments program and heads the Europe, European Union, and NATO Program, which focuses on political developments in European countries. She also helps lead ARES Group, the network of European researchers specializing in defense industry issues, which is coordinated by IRIS.

Her work focuses on defense industrial policies, cooperation in the field of armaments, and the role of the European Union in the development of a European defense industrial and technological base. She is also interested in the strategic cultures and defense policies of Poland, the three Baltic states, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, as well as security issues in the Nordic-Baltic region.

She holds a master’s degree in European Affairs from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). Before joining IRIS, Louise served as a policy officer to the defense attaché at the French Embassy in Lithuania.
