Manon Eskenazi

Manon Eskenazi holds a Ph.D. in urban planning and development and is a research fellow at the City, Mobility, and Transportation Laboratory at the École nationale des ponts et chaussées. In her dissertation, defended in 2022, she analyzed the interactions between the implementation of cycling policies and the development of cycling practices in two European metropolitan areas. She continues to work on cycling policies, focusing on the development of cycling infrastructure in French metropolitan areas (Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse) and the accompanying paradigm shifts. Since 2025, she has also been studying the implementation of “school streets” in Paris and their effects on children’s use of public space.

Her current research focuses on analyzing mobility models in the field of sustainable mobility in Europe (France, Germany), West Africa (Ivory Coast, Togo), and East and Southeast Asia (South Korea, the Philippines), and their effects on local policies, mobility practices, and urban spaces. In particular, she leads the WE-EMODS project on the effects of the electrification of motorized two-wheelers on the professional practices of drivers (delivery, motorcycle taxis) in Paris, Jakarta, and Lomé.
